The rule that matters most
StudyIB is built to support your learning, not to do it for you. By using it you agree to:
- Use the AI tools for guidance and learning, not to produce work you hand in as your own
- Credit AI assistance the way your school tells you to
- Never use StudyIB to get around an academic integrity policy, or to cheat
- Submit only your own work for grading and assessment
- Use feedback to understand the thing better, not instead of doing the work
What StudyIB provides
- AI tutoring. Interactive AI-powered help (Sam).
- Study resources. Subject guides, practice questions and study materials.
- Feedback tools. AI analysis of essays and assignments.
- Practice. Quizzes and tests that check what you understand.
- Articles. Educational writing and study strategy.
- Community features, where those are offered.
StudyIB is an independent platform. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the International Baccalaureate Organization, or by any official education authority.
Who can use it
You must be at least 13 years old. By using StudyIB you are telling us that you are.
Your account
You are responsible for:
- Keeping your login details private
- Everything that happens under your account
- Making sure the information you give us is accurate and current
- Following these terms and the law
Do not share your account or let anyone else use it.
What you must not do
You may not use StudyIB to:
- Cheat. Submit AI-generated content as your own work.
- Reverse-engineer it. Try to work out our AI algorithms or extract our models.
- Automate access. Use bots, scrapers or other automated systems.
- Interfere. Disrupt the service or the servers.
- Get around limits. Bypass security measures or usage limits.
- Misrepresent yourself. Falsify your identity or your qualifications.
- Break the law. Use StudyIB for anything unlawful.
Our content
Everything on StudyIB, text, graphics, logos and software, is protected by copyright, trademark and other intellectual property law. You may not copy, modify or distribute it without permission, use our trademarks without written consent, or remove or alter copyright notices.
Your content
Anything you submit stays yours. By submitting it you give us:
- A non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, display and distribute it
- The right to modify and adapt it, and to create derivative works, for the purpose of running our services
- A licence to use it to improve our AI models, in anonymised form
You are confirming that you hold the rights needed to give us those licences, and that what you submit does not infringe anyone else's rights.
What the AI features are, and are not
- AI feedback is for learning and practice only
- AI analysis may not match official IB grading standards
- Your real assessment always comes from your teachers and examiners
- AI suggestions are guidance, not answers
- Use the feedback to improve your work, not to replace your own thinking
Ending an account
We may suspend or close your account at any time, with or without cause. Reasons include, but are not limited to:
- Breaking these terms
- Academic dishonesty, or misusing the AI tools
- Abusing customer support or the community features
- Twelve months or more of inactivity
- Technical or legal requirements
When an account ends, your right to use the service stops immediately. Any part of these terms that is meant to outlast the account continues to apply.
What we do not promise
We work hard on accuracy, and there are things we cannot guarantee.
About the study material, we make no warranty as to:
- How complete or accurate it is
- Whether it matches the current IB syllabus, though we make our best effort
- Specific exam questions or predictions
- Tutor availability or how quickly you get a response
The AI features are provided "as is", with no warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee that:
- The analysis or feedback is free of errors
- AI responses will match official IB grading
- The AI services are always available
- Using them will improve your grades
Limits on our liability
To the maximum extent the law allows, StudyIB and its directors, employees and partners are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising from:
- Your use of the service, or your inability to use it
- Errors, mistakes or inaccuracies in the content
- Personal injury or damage to property
- Academic consequences of using our services
- Loss or corruption of data
- The actions or content of third parties
Which law applies
These terms are governed by the laws of the place StudyIB operates from. Disputes under them are resolved by binding arbitration, except where the law does not permit arbitration.
When these terms change
We may change these terms at any time. If a change is significant, we will post the updated terms here and change the "last updated" date. Continuing to use StudyIB after that means you accept the new terms.

The whole agreement
These terms, together with the privacy policy, are the entire agreement between you and StudyIB about your use of the service. If any part of them turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands.
